Olympic medalists kick off annual Night to Remember charity walk
A total of 170 adults who received inpatient or day-case cancer care at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust responded to the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey 2025, representing a 48% response rate.
Patients rated their overall care experience 9.1 out of 10, with 94% of respondents saying their care team worked well together. In addition, 92% of respondents said they had a named contact within their care team, and 97% found advice from their main point of contact helpful.
The survey highlighted a few areas needing improvement including information prior to diagnostic tests, professional advice before treatment decisions, keeping care plans up to date, and awareness of community and voluntary sector support.
One patient said, “I was so impressed with the speed that they were determined to work to. I was treated with utter care and respect with so much thought and flexibility built-in around my own life and responsibilities. My surgeon was brilliant at explaining everything in detail. Kingston Hospital was amazing and really respectful to my son and husband, keeping them informed."
The Trust will use the survey alongside local patient feedback to continue improving cancer services, ensuring patients receive personalised care and support, before, during and after treatment.
