Following a successful quality improvement project led by Revd Sekai Katsande, Assistant Chaplain and Pastoral and Spiritual Specialist, and the submission of an abstract titled Embedding Pastoral and Spiritual Support in ICU - co-authored with ICU consultant, Dr Shao Chong - Trust staff were invited to present their work at the Annual Congress of the European Society for Intensive Care Medicine in Munich.

Revd Susan van Beveren, the Trust’s Head of Pastoral and Spiritual Support, attended the congress and shared her reflections: “It was a real privilege to attend this international event alongside ICU professionals from around the world. Our presentation was warmly received, and it was great to discuss the importance of what we are offering to our patients and families and to our staff, in our work to embed pastoral and spiritual support in the work of the ICU multi-disciplinary team.
