This year, the Maternity Unit at Kingston Hospital is celebrating its 30th year in its current setting.

Staff recently marked the occasion with a baking competition, raising over £500 for Kingston Hospital Charity’s maternity fund, to support ongoing projects and improvements within the unit.

Marion Louki, Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust’s Director of Midwifery, said: “It is an absolute pleasure to celebrate this incredible milestone with colleagues - 30 years since the opening of the new Maternity Unit building, in 1995.

“Over the years, many lives have been brought into the world and countless families helped. We have also stood by families during difficult times, offering care and compassion when our support has been needed.”

In a special video message, Dr Hilary Jones - GP and TV presenter - congratulated the Maternity Unit on reaching this milestone.
