Jacqui Holmes, Operational Lead for Inpatient Physiotherapy at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust, was recently invited to speak at the British Geriatrics Society (BGS) national conference, on the topic of reconditioning. The invitation followed her recognition as the 2024 BGS Rising Star for Clinical Quality, awarded for her work in developing the Eat, Drink, Dress, Move (EDDM) programme.

During her presentation, Jacqui showcased the Trust’s success in embedding the EDDM programme using quality improvement methodology. Grounded in evidence-based clinical practice, the programme aims to reduce the harmful effects of inactivity and immobility for patients spending time in hospital, helping them to maintain independence and optimise recovery.

In addition to her talk, Jacqui joined a panel of experts to answer questions and share insights with other clinical specialists from across the country.
