Sir Ed Davey MP recently joined nursing, estates and patient transport colleagues at Kingston Hospital to officially open the Trust's new Discharge Lounge, which will help improve patient flow and support more patients to receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Located on the ground floor of Esher Wing, the new lounge provides a dedicated space for patients who are ready to leave hospital. Its close proximity to ambulance bays makes the transition from hospital to home smoother and more convenient for patients and their families.

The Discharge Lounge also offers an improved working environment for staff, supporting closer collaboration between teams involved in the discharge process and helping to free up inpatient beds more quickly for those who need them most.
