Over recent weeks, Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust's volunteering team has been out in force, providing extra support to colleagues in the Emergency Department. Our volunteers have truly gone above and beyond, covering extra shifts to ensure there has been a volunteer presence in the department, from 6am to 11pm.

During this time, volunteers have been restocking, cleaning, and most importantly, enhancing patient experience; making teas and coffees, offering a friendly ear, and bringing comfort to patients across the department during this busy period.

The team has also been helping to keep clinical staff fed and hydrated by taking a trolley of snacks and drinks around the department.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have stepped up to cover shifts, take extra shifts or go the extra mile during their regular shifts. Your commitment and kindness have made a real difference.
