Biography

Mr Mostafa Elgohary is a consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He trained as a specialist registrar in Ophthalmology on the North London rotation then as a fellow in Vitreoretinal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He also trained in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.

Mr Elgohary has expertise in the treatment of retinal disorders, including retinal detachment, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vitreous haemorrhage as well as complications of eye injuries. He also has expertise in the management of complicated cataract cases, including after eye trauma and those with unstable or displaced lens or lens implants.

Mr Elgohary has a postgraduate MD degree from University College London (UCL) and has published several peer-reviewed publications. His research interest encompasses the outcome of surgical intervention for retinal detachment, macular hole and diabetic complications surgery. He has presented his research at many of the national and international meetings.

Mr Elgohary is an honorary lecturer at the Institute of Ophthalmology and UCL. He is also a senior instructor on several courses in international Ophthalmology conferences, including the European Society of Retina Specialists, European Vitreoretinal Society and European Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
