The admin team are not clinically trained. This means they cannot provide clinical advice or give you test results.
The admin team will forward messages and prescription requests to the relevant consultant and their secretary.
Consultants will respond to emails as soon as they can. Be aware that they have scheduled commitments to the A&E department, our inpatient wards and our Paediatric Assessment Unit.
Urgent help
If you have urgent concerns or need urgent medical advice:
- contact your GP, or
- call NHS 111, or
- take your child to the nearest Emergency Department (A&E) if needed.
Prescription requests
Most medications can be re-prescribed by your GP.
If medications need to be prescribed by Kingston Hospital, make sure you contact the relevant department 10 to 14 days before your child’s supply runs out.
Test results
Your child's test results will be sent, electronically, to the doctor who requested the tests. This doctor will look at the results and let you know if you/your GP need to take any action.
The doctor may contact you by telephone or letter. Make sure we have your up-to-date contact details before you leave the appointment.
Get in touch with our Paediatric Admin team if you have not received your child's results after 4 weeks.
| Test | How long results take |
