What to expect following your procedure
You can expect the following.
- You may experience some bleeding (similar to a period). This may continue for 7 to 10 days.
- The bleeding may be heavy for the first day or so. You may experience pain similar to period pain.
- Some patients experience light bleeding or no bleeding. This is also normal.
Recovery at home
- Rest for a few days.
- You can return to work when you feel comfortable enough to do so.

For at least 3 weeks
Do not use tampons.
Do not have sexual intercourse.
These can increase the risk of infection.
When to seek medical help
Consult your GP if you experience any of the following:
- heavy and continuing bleeding
- continuous pain
- high temperature.
Follow-up
If we do not give you an Outpatient appointment, make sure you have a check-up with your GP within 6 weeks of your treatment.
