“I just wanted to check in as I prepare to start a new chapter of my life in Ireland. I’ve actually been reflecting on just how lucky I’ve been to call Kingston Hospital my home for nearly 14 years. When I first walked through the doors as a newly qualified midwife, I thought I would stay for a year or two only...haha!

Kingston had other plans - it wrapped me in its warmth, its energy, and most of all, its people. And it became more than just a workplace. It became my home, my foundation, and the most incredible part of my midwifery journey.

The work you all do is huge - truly. It’s not just about showing up and doing the job. It’s the way you show up. Everyone doing their best, lifting each other up, pulling together through every shift. You are team players in the truest sense, but also bring such fun, humour, and heart to everything you do. There’s something so special in the way Kingston staff care for women, for families, and for each other.

I’ve had the privilege of sharing so many moments - some tough, many hilarious, and countless heartwarming and I will treasure those memories forever. I still rave about Kingston every chance I get. Just recently, when I visited a hospital here in Ireland, they spoke about some of their team being trained by Kingston staff. I felt such pride saying, “That’s where I’ve come from.”

You’ve shaped me, supported me, taught me, and grown with me. And I’ll carry all of that forward with immense gratitude.”
