Staff at Kingston Hospital’s Neonatal Unit will benefit from practising life-saving resuscitation and intubation techniques for very sick newborn babies on a robotic newborn simulation mannequin and two preterm 24-week mannequins. Kingston Hospital will be one of the first hospitals in South West London to offer such high-tech simulation training to its staff.

Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust are calling on staff and the public to donate food for Christmas food parcels, for local Disabled people in need. This is in support of a Christmas food parcel campaign run by Ruils Independent Living, a Teddington based disability charity.

Kingston Hospital Charity has funded the purchase of 12 recliner chairs for the Hospital’s recently opened Frailty Same Day Emergency Care Unit and Emergency Department’s Critical Decisions Unit. The 12 fully reclinable chairs, which include six specialist chairs, will help to reduce the risk of patients developing pressure sores or falling while in hospital and will support Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust’s ongoing strategy to prevent the deconditioning of elderly and frail patients.

Kingston Hospital Charity is encouraging hospital staff to get out of their cars and onto their bikes by funding the construction of a second secure cycle shed which will enable 50 staff bicycles to be stored in a locked unit on the Kingston Hospital site.

On Friday 25 October, a new Cardiac Investigations Unit officially opened at Kingston Hospital. Guests including former patients and colleagues, partners and contractors, were invited to tour the unit, which offers a wide range of cardiology diagnostic tests for local patients.
