Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP)
About us
The Macmillan information and support service provides comprehensive, expert information and support for people affected by cancer.
It is a joint venture between Macmillan Cancer Support and Kingston Hospital.
Drop in for support
You’ll find us Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm (except Bank Holidays) on the ground floor of the Sir William Rous Unit. You don’t need an appointment.
The centre is staffed by a health professional and trained volunteers, some of whom have experience of living with cancer.
We can help anyone with concerns about cancer, including relatives, friends and carers.
Our information and support
When you visit our information centre, you’ll be greeted either by our manager or a trained volunteer. You’ll find a range of information leaflets on all aspects of cancer.
Some of our resources are available in different languages or a larger print. We also have a range of information for people with learning disabilities. Macmillan Cancer also provide animation films about cancer in different languages.
Please call the centre or speak to your cancer specialist nurse for more details about local or national cancer support groups.
We are here to listen if you want to discuss how cancer is affecting your life. Find further support and information at www.
We also hold a series of free workshops throughout the year to support patients with cancer and their family or carers. These include a series of wellbeing workshops on topics such as mindfulness, relaxation, art therapy and facing the world. A small sample of these workshops can be viewed at the following links:
These are make-up and confidence building workshops held every two months at the unit. For women who may have lost their eyebrows, need skin advice due to chemotherapy. A wonderful way to get support from other patients going through similar experiences.
For more information visit the Look good feel better website.
Kingston Hospital also offers a range of complementary therapies for newly diagnosed patients. Please speak to your cancer specialist nurse or call the information centre to find out what is on offer.
Macmillan Cancer Support and the Macmillan Benefits Advice Service (part of Citizens Advice Wandsworth) work in partnership to provide free and confidential advice on welfare, benefits, and money matters, for people affected by cancer in south west London - during treatment and beyond.
We’re here for people living with cancer, their families, and their carers.
