Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common condition that affects the digestive system. It causes problems such as stomach cramps, diarrhoea, constipation and bloating. Symptoms can come and go but it is usually a lifelong problem.
Because there is no cure for IBS, it is important to do what you can to look after yourself and manage your symptoms.
We recommend the NHS website and Guts UK for advice.
